There are many aspects to building a solid foundation for your business and one of the essential elements to achieving financial success is often overlooked until an issue occurs that prompts you to take action with personal development.
A common mistake many successful business owners make is by not putting the emphasis and taking the time to personally be good to yourself! After all, there are only so many hours in a day.
Your business is a total reflection with the essence of YOU and research demonstrates when you take the time to personally make yourself a priority, not only are you receiving optimal emotional, mental and physical health benefits but this energetically, creates a significant positive effect on your business’s bottom line and overall operations. Thus, creating a win-win!
Simple exercises to “Be Good to YOUrself” and Grow Your Business:
- Allow yourself an additional 5-10 minutes of deep diaphragmatic breathing before going to your next networking group, mastermind or department meeting.
Taking a few deep breaths increases the blood and oxygen flow to your brain, lowers blood pressure and allows your mind and organ body systems to relax and function with ease.
This will increase and center your energy enabling you to stand out and shine from all the rest, provide Divine inspiration and creativity when collaborating with others and will guide you with the clarity to articulate your desires in a prosperous joint venture while creating a win-win for the highest good of all involved.
- Driving to work is a great time to energetically co-create your day through these simple methods of stating positive affirmations as if your desire has already been achieved and giving gratitude for what you currently have.
Using the phrase, “thank you so much that I now have …” or by stating “I am …” and affirming for what you desire is a great way to draw it into your conscious experience and increases your mental confidence and emotional self-esteem.
Giving gratitude for what you already have will energetically bring even more gratitude into your life. You can speak, sing and chant them. The main thing is to have fun while you are doing them.
- Taking 5-15 minutes to set your intentions for your desired day through visualization techniques and meditation.
Closing your eyes while seeing with your third eye chakra which is located between your eyebrows and setting your intentions of what you would like to receive, create, accomplish or experience is another great way to vibrationally align yourself with those experiences. You can do this through visualization imagery, meditation and guided meditation techniques.
This also clears away any negative mind chatter of worry or fear.
- Regular visits to a resort spa can invigorate your creativity and enables you to release all that no longer serves you.
Getting a weekly therapeutic full body massage and frequently scheduling a facial, manicure, pedicure and other self-care services is immensely healing by purging your body of toxins, impurities, lactic acid, cortisol and many other elements that creates blockage in all aspects of your life.
Implementing a few of these personal development exercises into your daily routine will positively change your life and are essential tools in building a SOLID foundation and successfully growing your business.

Implementing self-care luxuries into my life has been a game changer. I love my facials especially. They’re relaxing and I release everything I’m holding onto while I’m there; and bonus…I look marvelous!
Great reminder that if you don’t take care of yourself you can’t take care of your business, your employees, or your customers. I will take this to heart!
Seeing through your 3rd eye was a great reminder for me. The whole article is spot on. Thank you.
Thank you so much! These are helpful! Whether it’s a Home, Business or all other relationships in ones life, they are the reflection of ourselves. I‘ll be sure to be taking good care of myself on all levels first, and giving gratitude for what I already have, each and every day. ;-)
Great tips! I like the part about co-creating as you drive to work.
Great words of wisdom, thanks for sharing.
It is amazing how much we learn when we share. Thank you, Dr. Maxwell for sharing these wonderful and powerful tips. You are a beautiful authentic soul!
Good Reminders as to what it is all about! You have to fill your own jug first, then you pour and give to others … you can not give if you are running on empty. Thank you for reminding us of a simple but powerfully important message.
I am the boss! Thank you Stacey, for the reminder – I am already doing some of your tips regularly. :-)
Yes! This is super important. It’s so easy to underestimate the toll that is constantly being faced with the challenges and the new learning it takes. It’s so exciting we can sometimes forget to re-charge.
Love this stuff!!!
This is a great message about the importance of choosing yourself first to create success. I needed the reminder at the end of a hectic week, thanks for the reminder to nurture myself first. Nurturing myself is a sign that I’m operating in enlightened feminine energy as I create my business instead of operating from the wounded masculine energy like I did in the past.
Blessings of joy,
Andrea
This works!!! I have been doing some of these exercises for myself and I have experienced such increased awareness.
Thank you Dr. Maxwell, for encouraging others! ;-)
What a GREAT reminder! Thank you.
These are GREAT tips!
All good things!!!
It is SOOOOO important to take time for YOU!!! I’ve made a point to do these things and encourage others to do the same.
Thank you for reminding me to do more! The affirmations on the drive to work really help give my day direction and balance.

This is ESSENTIAL not only in business but in LIFE too! ;-)
