“How can I stop being shy? I have had this problem since my early childhood and I can’t get rid of it. Every time I try to make a change and finally become sociable and be comfortable with talking to new people or to stop blushing, something embarrassing happens and I fail. I feel like I’m stuck in this endless nightmare for the rest of my life. I always think my particular situation can’t be solved because I BLUSH a lot and I can’t control this. Please help me overcome this shyness and perhaps stop blushing and becoming more comfortable during awkward situations.” ~ Yosra Tunisia
Dear Yosra,
Being debilitatingly shy is rooted from low self-esteem and lacking confidence in oneself. One way to overcome this is to empower yourself by doing daily Mirror-Work exercises. This is where you provide yourself with the basic building blocks of who you truly are as your essence is an expression of God/Goddess manifested into human form; therefore, you possess all the innate qualities of the Universal Mind intelligence.
Mirror-Work is looking into your eyes as they are the windows to the Soul and positively speaking to yourself in the first, second and third person as this is how we identify ourselves: I, you, me, he, she and stating your name while speaking your essence of truth. For example …
I AM … magnificent, amazing, confident, safe, strong, beautiful, talented, creative, joyful, loving, lovable and loved.
I AM perfect, powerful, harmonious and happy.
You are healthy, vibrant, whole and complete.
You are worthy and deserving of the best life’s experiences.
Stacey has right-relationships with everyone she meets.
Everyone enjoys being in Stacey’s company.
She is powerful. She is amazing.
Stacey is loved. I love you, Stacey. You are so loved, Stacey.
As you do this exercise several times a day, you’ll empower your Inner-Child with your essence of truth and what you were meant to receive as a child. It’s important to use your name during this exercise while physically and visually connecting with yourself.
You can point to yourself in the mirror as you say them. You can touch your heart chakra, located in the center of your chest, as you speak your truth. Be sure to have fun with this exercise by singing and chanting them.
With respects to the blushing, it’s a beautiful innate gift which allows the body to illuminate your radiance for others to see.

Healing your inner child, and building the self confidence you lack is really life altering. As far as the blushing goes, I blush too. It’s uncontrollable. I prefer to think of it as my inner spirit radiating outward for the world to see. Joy!
Mirror work is amazing. I would work on that first, and then I would go out in public with a trusted friend, and just be yourself. Do things that would normally embarrass you, and see that it is not so bad. You are noticing the “embarrassing” behavior more than anyone else for sure. If other people do notice it and look at you funny I suggest trying to learn how to laugh with others at yourself. This in itself can be life changing! Try it. I think you’ll end up liking it!
Kind, true, empowering, loving words of healing. Thank you.
Blushing is part of you! Yosra ~ That’s so cute! You are cute! Accepting this part of you ~ then the thing will transmute itself!
Just act as who you are! You are special and unique! Love you! Yosra : )
How true … good advice!

Working on my inner child has been life changing. Having the ability to separate yourself and your inner child is very healing. I hope that others will benefit from this concept.
Dr. Maxwell,
This is very beneficial for both personal and professional growth indeed :) Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you so much for sharing this powerful opportunity via Linked-In . I shall immediately implement Mirror-Work in the context of being a networking introvert. It is especially, welcomed that you offer a profound practice rather then the superficial and too-oft-trodden counsel. Thank you.
